I have uninstalled and reinstalled Myst M E three times now and have even reinstalled the DirectX as well as restoring sound and video(two options that came with the game) and nothing has worked. Can anyone help? Plus where can I find the walkthrough for Riven and Exile. I know that I have a Compatible sound card because when I played Riven and Exile I could hear the sound perfectly. My video card is a Phoenix S3 Trio64+ and the only options I have for color is 16 bit, High color 16 bit, and 256 color. DirectX 6.1 compatible Sound video cardĮxcept for the High color 24 bit or more I do have these system requirements. 640*480 display High color (24 bit or more)ħ. I ran a virus scan and no viruses were found. I looked at the details and it says that an error occured at the default page of Myst.exe. The other 2 games Riven and Exile work fine but Myst M E doesn't. If youre on Windows 10, I would recommend using a Virtual Machine- It worked for me and I am happy with the results. I have to click close three times before the message box disappears. This game WILL run on a modern PC but it takes some work to get it going You cant just pop in the CD and expect it to run smoothly unless youre on an old machine running a compatible OS.
I was able to install it correctly but when I try to play it the ever unpopular message "This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down" appears. I recently bought the entire Myst trilogy in one box and the game Myst M E has a problem.
